Guillaume (Bill) Gardinal, 99, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on February 26, 2023 with his family by his side.

He was born on December 4, 1923, to the late Elizabeth and Emile Gardinal in Beloeil, Belgium.

Guillaume attended high school at the Collège St. Julien in Ath, Belgium and the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. He received a Master of Arts in French and Remedial Reading at Wayne State University.

He immigrated to the United States in 1947 and married Pierrette Lo Grasso in Detroit, Michigan in 1952. They lived in East Detroit, Michigan until they moved to Merritt Island, Florida in 1972. Guillaume taught in the Brevard County School System until his retirement in 1985.

Guillaume was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. He found great joy in traveling throughout Europe, touring by bike in France and delighting in Pierrette's pasta creations. He was a vibrant 99 year old who loved nature, enjoyed his daily walks, creating computer graphics and tending to his plants. Guillaume is survived by his wife, Pierrette of 70 years, and daughters Marie-Christine Milnes (Christopher) and Annette Gardinal; granddaughters Noelle Easterling (MJ), Leah Leggett (Matthew), Shara Ermlich (Ryan) and Melissa Gardinal; great-grandchildren Nolan, Elise, Regan, Grant, Carter and Chloe; Brother Gerard as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul.

Funeral services will be 11am on Thursday, March 23rd at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida.
