Genniel Maye Riddle Hayes, 91, of Melbourne, FL. passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to the late Hobart and Dorcas Riddle on April 17, 1927 in Barnardsville, NC.
Gennie (as she liked to be called) started her career selling war bonds as a young woman in Asheville, NC.  After moving with her family to Florida in 1960, she worked many years at Patrick Air Force Base, before transferring to Ascension Island from where she retired in 1994.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Edward Hayes, brother G.H. Riddle, and sister Joanne Butner.
Gennie is survived by her daughters Jan Hayes Rader (Bob) and Courtenay Hayes of Melbourne, FL;  two granddaughters Kelly Shope (Jeremy) and Courtenay O'Donnell; four great-granddaughters Aubrey O'Donnell Parrish, Madeleine O'Donnell, Kelsey Shope, and Lindsey Shope;  niece Rhonda Rogers and nephew Steve Butner.
