Obituary

Geneva B Hitchcock, 90, of Indian Harbour Beach died Sunday, September 23, 2012 after a short illness. Born in Norwich, Connecticut, Geneva lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, San Diego, California, Charleston, South Carolina and many other port cities with her husband Donald R. Hitchcock (LCDR, USN - deceased) and family.

A member of The Greatest Generation, Geneva worked for defense contractors in support of U.S. efforts during WW II. After marrying, she was a homemaker and loving mother. Geneva practiced her Catholic faith daily and put her faith into action with her volunteer work at local hospitals. After her children were grown, she returned to work at Harris Corporation. Geneva, a lifelong avid reader, enjoyed engaging conversations about almost everything that made life interesting.

Geneva is survived by her sons, Curt, and his wife, Virginia who reside in Lancaster, PA and Donald of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; her daughter, Donna Jeane Pappas and her husband James L. Pappas of Hillsborough, NC; and seven grandchildren, Sean Hitchcock of Lexington Park, MD, Leslie Hitchcock of Lancaster, PA, Trey and Miles Hitchcock of San Diego, CA and Josh, Cameron and Payton Pappas of Hillsborough, NC.

A private mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church in her honor.
