Obituary

Gene Monroe Seamster, 62, of Melbourne, passed away on Monday, April 30th with his wife of 41 years by his side.

Gene was born on October 13, 1955 in Lynchburg, Virginia.  At 21 years of age, Gene served his Country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.  During his tenure in the service, Gene earned multiple sharp shooting awards and was invited to qualify for the U.S. Olympics shooting team.

In 1977, Gene married his teenage sweetheart, Monica Ruff, and they lived together in Marietta, Georgia before relocating to Melbourne in 1984. Thereafter, Gene pursued and earned his Airframe and Powerplant license from the Federal Aviation Administration and worked for various government and private contractors through 2016.

When not working, Gene enjoyed saltwater fishing, shooting, American muscle cars, reading, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Gene is survived by his wife Monica and his children Dominique (Ray) Gauvreau, of Tampa and Nicholas (Christina) Seamster, of Wellington.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gavin, Victoria and Gabriel.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3rd from 6:00-8:00 pm at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 4th at 11:30 am at Ascension Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Florida Memorial Gardens.
