Gene Lee Henderson II, 63, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Born on April 26, 1963, in Melbourne, Gene was the son of the late Gene Lee Henderson and Donna Sue McCormick Henderson. A lifelong resident of Melbourne, he dedicated many years of service as an Operations Supervisor for the City of Melbourne.

Gene was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Eau Gallie and a member of the NRA. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in fishing, hunting, and responsible target shooting, embracing all that the local area had to offer. Above all else, Gene deeply loved and cherished his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Brenda Sue Talbott Henderson; his sister, Roxanna Gonser (Michael) of Palm Bay, Florida; his brother, Mark Lucas (Cheryl) of West Melbourne, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his beloved pets—his “four-legged children” Spunky I, Spunky II, Walker, Alex, and Amber—as well as his feathered companion, Woodchuck.
