Gary F. Stewart, age 79, of Melbourne, FL, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born to the late Kerr and Norma Stewart on January 11, 1945, in Tabusintac, New Brunswick, Canada. He married the former Dina Sousa in 1970 and resided in Barre, MA until their relocation to Melbourne, FL in 2017.

Gary is survived by his beloved spouse of 54 years, Dina, and their two children, Kirsty Stewart and Leslie (Stewart) Doody, along with son-in-law Jason and treasured grandchild, Michael. He also leaves behind his four siblings, Cecil Stewart; Sharon Campbell; Pam McMahon and Gloria Stewart. Gary was predeceased by his brother Donnie Stewart.

Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his adopted country honorably as a Sergeant while stationed in Europe from 1964 to 1967. After completing his military service, Gary lived in Barre, MA and worked as a machinist at Saint Gobain, formerly Norton Company, for 28 years.

Gary was a beloved husband, parent, grandparent, sibling, and friend. His family and friends will all remember his gift of gab, quick witted quips, booming laughter, love for his mother's butterscotch pies, the special occasional crown and ginger, and watching his grandson play baseball.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
