Obituary

Frank Joseph Stelmach, 92, of West Melbourne, Florida, died Saturday, February 17 th , with his wife Marguerite (Peggy) Cross-Stelmach by his side.  He was formerly married to the late Stella (Gnys) Stelmach.

He was born and grew up in Central Falls, RI, son of the late John and Agnes (Kowalec) Stelmach. He later moved to North Smithfield, RI, finally retiring in West Melbourne, Florida.

In World War II, he served in the 932 nd Signal Division of the Army-Air Corp under General Patton.  As a Veteran , he was a member of the Fierlit-Korzen Post 79 American Legion.

Employed for over 40 years by Carol Cable of Pawtucket and Lincoln, RI,  he retired in 1988 as a warehouse manager.

Frank was an avid sports fan playing baseball, softball, bowling and golf for many years.  He was a lifelong and loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Besides his wife, Peggy, he is survived by his children, Alice (John) Grivers of Cumberland, RI and Joseph (Theresa) Stelmach of Pascoag, RI,  his stepchildren, Kenneth Cross and Pamela (Anthony) Coletta of Harrisville, RI, Karen (James) Moro of North Smithfield, RI and Raymond (Rosemary) Cross of Haines City, FL,  six grandchildren, Erin (Michael) Simonelli, Jeffrey Grivers, Sarah (Jeremy) Brown, Melissa (Gary) Lee, Darren Duval and Alexa Rae Cross, also five great-grandchildren Ava Simonelli, Jeremy and Joseph Brown and Alice and Everett Lee,  also many nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by three sisters Blanche Roderick, Alice Johnstone and Jesse Green, two brothers Albert and Andrew Stelmack.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
