Obituary

Fr. Joseph John Rimshaw, S.S.J., 93, departed this life and joined his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born on May 14, 1921 in Cambridge, MA, to the late Samuel and Frances Andruskevitch-Rimshaw. Fr. Joseph relocated to Melbourne in 1986 coming from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He was a member of The Society of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL. His final ministry which he performed was to make mission appeals throughout the United States on behalf of the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. Fr. Joseph will be remembered as a sincere and kind man whom was dedicated in spreading the love of God. He was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley and William Rimshaw. Fr. Joseph leaves memories to be cherished by his sister, Helen Chapin and numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved church family. Calling hours will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne with a wake service to begin at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Palm Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Fr. Joseph to: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1626 Oak Street, Melbourne, FL 32901.
