Eugene Oscar Webster, II "Oscar" 1/22/1925-4/20/2019
He was born in Lexington, NC to Eugene Oscar Webster "Gene" and Lydia Francis Anderson-Webster. He was preceded in death by his beautiful beloved wife on August 23rd 2018, Elizabeth Ann Maxwell-Webster "Betty".
He was a Carolina boy through and through. He loved all college sports but especially his UNC Tarheels! Oscar was an Eagle Scout like his father before him and spent many years Involved as a scout master. After high school he joined the Navy and served proudly on the USS Indiana Battleship during WW II. He was a North Carolina Highway Patrolman before moving his family to Florida in the early 1950's. In 1958 he opened Webster Insurance Agency.
For over sixty years he has been a faithful dedicated member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. He served on the vestry and was active in Stephen's Ministry as a Lay Eucharistic Minister taking communion to the members who were unable to attend church. He was also a proud member of the Dirty Dozen who lovingly cared for the grounds of the church.
Our dad was an inspiration to all of us with his love, kindness and gentle words. His love and faithfulness in The Lord will serve as our spiritual light.
He is survived and loved by his children Eugene Oscar Webster, III "Ozzie" (Marilyn) Webster, Laura (Jim) Hustoles, Stephen "Scooter" (Linda) Webster, Lisa Webster and eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Our kind, grateful, loving dad and Pop's who we will surely miss until we meet again.
His gift of unconditional love and example of faith in Jesus Christ will give us strength.
"Grief never ends... but It changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith... It is the price of love."
