Estella May Flynt, 85, of West Melbourne FL joined her husband Alfred and son Alan in heaven on Monday, March 28, 2016. She passed away peacefully at her home after a short battle with cancer.
She was born July 5, 1930 in Manchester Maine to the late Harry and Florence Flynt. She attended nursing school in New York City before marring the late Alfred Ladner. They lived in Decatur Illinois and began their family, prior to moving to Old Saybrook CT, where she worked for RR Donnelly's Printing Co for many years and raised 5 children. Stella later moved to Florida after the death of her husband and worked for Huntley Jiffy for many years. After retiring she resided at Arrowood Adult Community where she had many friends and enjoyed playing cards, bunco and many other games.
Stella is survived by her daughter Laurie (Bobby) Huffman of West Melbourne FL; sons Thomas (Pamela) Ladner of Orlando FL; Karl (Bonnie) Ladner of Balston Spa NY; and James (Angela) Ladner of Old Saybrook CT; her sister n law Margaret Drucker of Booth Bay Harbor, ME and many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her husband Alfred Ladner in 1978 and her son Alan Prescott Ladner in 1998. Stella has cherished her time with her 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Kristal, Allison, and Haley Huffman; Jeremie Ladner; Lindsey Riley; Kristen Diehl (Matt) with great granddaughters Madison and Jaelin; Jason Ladner with great grandson Jacob. Nana will be missed and forever live on in them.
Stella also cherished her late sister Martha Bouffards children, Suzanne (Gerry) Mahon; Linda Mullin and David (John) Bouffard; they were more than nieces and nephew, she thought of them as her own. She enjoyed traveling to visit family, especially to Maine. She always kept the family up on everyone's lives.
Stella had a unique sense of humor and was very outspoken who always told it how it was. Anyone who ever spent time with her found a very special lady who was extremely independent, proud, strong, and very wise. "Dog gone it all". Estella had requested no services.
