Elizabeth H. (Beth) Sykes, 87, of Melbourne, FL entered into God's heavenly kingdom on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Beth, a true Florida native, was born on August 24, 1931 in Oak Hill to J. Harry and Mollie Hilldale. As a young adult, she moved to Cocoa, FL where she was employed at Patrick Air Force Base. While at Patrick, she met and married Al Sykes on July 24, 1954. They moved to Virginia for two years then returned to Melbourne, FL in 1957 where Al was employed by Radiation Inc. (now known as Harris Corp.).

Beth was a homemaker extraordinaire, raising their two daughters while supporting her husband. She was a dedicated Christian and was faithful to her Lord. She enjoyed cooking and with one of her best friends, they catered special events for friends and family.

Beth is survived by her husband, Al of 64 years, her two daughters, Susan (Stuart) Morton of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Karen (Tom) Britt of Longwood, FL. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Andy (Mallory) Britt and Kenny (Megan) Britt and four great-grandchildren, Cale; Madilyn; Nash; and Miles. She is also survived by her brother David Hilldale of New Smyrna Beach and her sister Jo Blackburn of Cocoa, FL plus many nieces and nephews. One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is being held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 610 Young St., Melbourne, FL, 32935.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Beth's memory to The Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation, 4676 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
