Edward Florian Mikulas grew up in Cream Ridge NJ. He graduated from Allentown High School. After 4 years in the US Air Force he attended and graduated from Florida Technological University, now UCF. He spent 41 years working at Kennedy Space Center. His career spanned the Mercury Program to the Shuttle Program. His passion for his incredible work inspired a love of the space program in his children and grandchildren. The mission of space exploration meant so much to him that the end of the Shuttle Program broke his heart.

After he retired in 2002, he traveled the world with his wife Eileen. He loved his faith and family above all else and attended Ascension Catholic Church. He was active in the community as a member of The Brevard Republican Executive Committee.

He is survived his wife of 61 years, Eileen, 5 children: Cathy Panik (Paul), Mary Sutphin (Phil), Ralph Mikulas (Kim), Joani Slawson (Brian) and Joey Mikulas (Denise), 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews, 8 grand nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
