Air Force veteran Edward S. Long, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Melbourne, Florida, on June 7th.

Mr. Long was born to Peggy and Ted E. Long on St. Simons Island, Georgia, on July 24, 1939. After graduating locally from Glynn Academy, he served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Operator, including deployments abroad in Germany and Japan.

Upon returning to the United States, he settled in Florida and began a distinguished career with BellSouth Telecommunications. Edward was known for his hardworking and friendly demeanor, as well as his passion for fishing and aquatic activities.
