HURLEY, Earl C., age 91, formerly of Indialantic, FL passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
Earl was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1931. Graduated from Linden H.S. In 1949. Entered the US Air Force in 1950, commissioned in 1959, Received a BS from Bellevue University in 1966 and honorably retired as a Captain in July 1970 at Offutt AFB, NE. He went on to serve in the Federal government as a civil servant and received a second retirement. After the loss of his wife in 2019 he moved to his home in Indialantic, FL.
In retirement, Earl enjoyed crafts and travel with his wife of 63 years. He was also a dedicated advocate for programs for the mentally handicapped.
Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Proceeded in death by his parents Earl Tilton and Evelina; his wife Gertraud Lore; his brother Wayne; and his son Walter.
He is survived by his three daughters Evelyn Huth and husband, Mitchell; Christel and Renee. Grandchildren Ashley Rush; Daniela Hurley; Wesley Huth and wife Julie; Courtney Crowley and husband John; Kirsten Rickman and husband David; and Santino Parry. Great grandchildren Atlas Huth, Lily Rickman and Wren Huth as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
There will be two private Celebrations of Life in Florida: 11 February at Zon Beachside Assisted Living Facility and 18 February at Tuscany Grill.
His final Celebration of Life as well as his interment will take place in Spring 2023. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Omaha National Cemetery.
