Earl Ray Atkinson "Ray," 57, passed away at his childhood home with the comfort of his family and friends, on Saturday, July 7, 2012.

He was born in Macon, GA, but his forever home was here in Brevard County, FL, where he graduated from Satellite High School and used his extraordinary and creative talent of Master Carpentry in the many homes here and in John's Island of Vero Beach.

Ray is survived by his mother, Doris Hinton Baldwin; children, Jennifer, Justin, and Logan Atkinson; grandchildren, Jonas, Simon, Kyle, and Lily; brothers, Kevin and Lindsey Atkinson; sisters, Dawn Atkinson Spaccio and Brenda Reed; nieces and nephews, Allison, Tracy, and Shawn; his many aunts, uncles and cousins; his girlfriend, Ann Flage; his best friend, Philip Lovell; and all the friends of the old neighborhood.

His favorite things were the beach and the waves, plants, cooking, and building just about anything. His mischievous smile, playfulness, and creative talent will be missed more than words can say.

Funeral services are not of his wishes, but that of a celebration of his life to be held on August 4, 2012 at 4 pm, Paradise Beach Park, AIA, N. Pavilion.
