Dumitru Titus Ghica, aged 72, passed into eternal life at his home on March 30, 2024, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born on January 20, 1952, in Bucharest, Romania, Dumitru's life was a testament to transformation, faith, and his love of music.

In his formative years, Dumitru captivated audiences as a celebrated folk singer with his trademark voice, guitar, and harmonica. He would later embrace Christianity, reshaping his life's work towards Christian songwriting.

In 1985, Dumitru embarked on a new journey, fleeing Communist Romania by swimming across the Danube River and taking refuge in the United States. His wife, Luminita, and their four-year-old son, Paul, would join him two years later.

This marked the beginning of the most significant chapter of his life. He devoted himself to music education, starting youth orchestras within church communities in California and Chicago. Despite a career spanning over two decades as a building engineer, his passion for music never waned, and his work deeply influenced the lives and careers of many through his commitment to music, servant leadership, and mentorship.

Dumitru leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Luminita Ghica; his sons, Oliviu Ghica and Paul Ghica; his daughter, Julia Dina; and three cherished grandchildren. His family and loved ones mourn the loss of a remarkable individual whose life was a beacon of faith, love, and musical inspiration.
