Douglas W. Nicholson died unexpectedly on January 13, 2013 after having suffered a massive heart attack the day before at his home in Palm Bay, Florida.
He was born to Martha and George Nicholson on December 9, 1950 in Yonkers, NY who have predeceased him.
Douglas is survived by his loving wife, Erica; two sisters, Elizabeth Nicholson and Ann Marie Wendolski and her children, Kimberly and Nicholas Wendolski; and a brother, William Nicholson.
Douglas graduated with honors from Suny University State of NY and was an avid student of all things scientific, particularly outer space. He was a quiet person but well versed in many subjects. It was a real pleasure to listen to him talk. He did not seek human respect but did things because they were the right and proper thing to do, regardless of the consequences. He was always loyal; and faithful. He was a kind and compassionate man and firmly believed if you could not say anything kind or good about a person then you did not say anything.
Douglas will be sorely missed by those who were privileged to know him.
