Dorothy "Dot" Wittig, 75 of West Melbourne (formerly of Philadelphia, Old Bridge, NJ; Richboro, PA and Suntree) died peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness on Thursday, May 17th. Her devoted husband was by her side.
She was born in Camden, NJ to Edwin and Helen (nee Pulliam) DeBickes on September 1, 1942. Her family later moved to Philadelphia where Dot met the love of her life, Robert. They married in 1960 and together raised their children.
Dot was a talented and accomplished homemaker. She loved to garden, bake, redecorate with wallpaper, paint, sew, and do all types of needlework just to name a few of her pursuits. For many of these skills, she was self-taught. Dot was exceedingly friendly with an easy smile. She was loved and treasured by all who knew her.
Dot is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert; her children Carol (Hammond) Pletcher of Warminster, PA; Carl (Bernadette) of Mantua, NJ; Mark (Bethann) of Alpine, WY; Melissa (Michael) Gordon of West Melbourne; and Lisa (Gregory) Haagen of Amherst, NH. She is also survived by her brother John (Kathleen) DeBickes of Rockledge and her beloved grandchildren: Samantha, Robert, Max and August Wittig; Matthew and Abigail Gordon.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 9 AM at Ascension Catholic Church. 2950 North City Blvd., Melbourne.
