Doretta Ellen McEvers, 75, of Melbourne, Florida passed away December 10, 2015 at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 21, 1940 in Holdenville, OK and had been a resident of Melbourne since 2002 coming from Ventura, CA after 15 years and had previously lived in Brookings, OR, Prague, OK and San Jose, CA where she raised her family.
Prior to retirement, she worked as a quality control inspector for Atari and other electronics companies in Silicon Valley, CA.
Doretta enjoyed reading Sci-Fi, arts and crafts, collecting anything Betty Boop, Elvis Presley and Orchids. She also enjoyed collecting angels, as well as giving them as gifts to the important people in her life.
She is survived by her son and care giver, Rick McEvers of Melbourne; sister, Doris Reed of Alamo, TN; brother, Jack McCulley of King City, CA; grandchildren, Tabea Marie McEvers of Phoenix, AZ, Mona Lisa McEvers of Phoenix and Daniel Lee Jones of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Alyza Marie Shores and Valerie Rae Shores of Phoenix, AZ. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Ray McEvers; brothers, Tom McCulley and Bill McCulley and sister, Anita McCulley.
A memorial service will be held 1-4pm, Saturday, December 19th at her home.
