Donald A. Murphy, 82, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away quietly on March 25, 2012. He was born in Manhattan NY on December 22, 1929 to Joseph and Ellen Woodruff Murphy.
Mr. Murphy leaves behind his wife, Susan Erickson Murphy; children, Nancy Murphy, Donald Murphy, Jr., Susan McGlynn, David Murphy, Sean Murphy, Mary Jo Sandt, Deirdre Murphy; their mother, Rosemary Ritter Murphy, and 12 grandchildren.
He had a career as a banking executive for 30 years and worked with the State Department to establish the first National Bank for the Ivory Coast in Africa. Don served in the Army National Guard as a First Lieutenant. Most recently, he was a resident of Holderness, NH and Indialantic, FL.
He loved God, his family & friends and his country. No words can express the joy and happiness he brought to those he loved; he will be greatly missed and remembered always.
A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at the Peapack Reformed Church in Gladstone, NJ on April 7th, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
