Dolores Walker passed away on Tuesday, September 15 surrounded by family. She was 98. Dolores lived a vibrant, full life. She grew up during the Great Depression, and In 1944, she married Frank Walker, a World War II pilot. During the summers, one of her grandsons, Mark, visited their home and learned the meaning of a loving family. The couple was together for almost 45 years before Frank passed in 1989. Together they leave a legacy of numerous children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Throughout her life, Dolores enjoyed square dancing, playing bridge, and crocheting. Many of her afternoons were spent reading, and she had a vast collection of books on her Kindle. She patiently taught her grandchildren cursive and loved receiving cards with their handwriting. Her humor was a constant source of entertainment, and she made those around her laugh all the way through her final days.
In the later years of her life, Dolores lived with her son, Rick, as well as his wife, Nancy, and her grandchildren, Emily and Andy. She loved her yellow lab and her granddaughter's terrier, although in the end, her constant companion was her grandson's cat. Several years ago her granddaughter, Emily, created a photo essay of Dolores' life and it can be viewed at
