Obituary

Dennis Michael Nash passed away on May 11, 2016, after an intense six-month battle with esophageal cancer.

He was born on August 21, 1970. He grew up studying martial arts and developing a deep love for hunting, fishing and outdoor life. He graduated from Enrico Fermi High School in Enfield, CT before serving justice for more than 20 years as a correctional officer for the state of Connecticut.

Dennis married Tina Letourneau in 1996. He was a coach for the Enfield Ramblers football team and taught tae kwon do in his own dojo. As a teacher and leader, he came to be known and respected for his loyalty, patriotism, strong opinions, and commitment to those he loved and that which he knew to be right.

A man of many skills and talents, he retired in 2009, then restored a boat for his family's enjoyment on the Connecticut coast. In 2014, they relocated to Malabar, FL where he dedicated his time to their children Connor and Morgan, now ages 15 and 17. There, Dennis made a peaceful family home on the lake, and hand-made the tools of the sports he loved.

Dennis died the way he lived, fighting tirelessly for the best outcome for his family, while accepting reality as it came. His focus and stamina in facing cancer were inspirational, until his last breath. His final hours were peaceful as he entered the next life surrounded by his wife and children.

He is survived by his parents Diane and Norman Nash, of Enfield, CT. Per Dennis's request, no memorial services will be held at this time.
