Denice Batten

Denice Janene Batten, a long-time resident of the Grant/Valkaria area, passed away Tuesday, the 2nd of October 2012 peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband and family.

Born in 1951 in Denver, Colorado, Denice moved to Brevard County in the early 1970's and raised 3 sons. Denice worked for MDI in Fellsmere, Florida for a number of years and also for MC Assembly for the past several years.

Denice is survived by her soul mate and husband of 35 years Joe Batten, as well as her 3 sons, Larry Vernon, Randy Vernon and David Vernon, she also is survived by her brother Arthur Florentz and a sister still living in the Denver, Colorado area. Denice is also survived by her 9 grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Denice was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a faithful animal lover. Denice dedicated many years of her life to loving and protecting animals, both hers and wild animals that were in need of love and shelter. She brought happiness and love to everyone and every animal that met her and will be greatly missed.

Her family will be hosting a private "Celebration of Life" memorial service in her honor.

The Davis Seawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida has been trusted with her arrangements.
