Delores Dody' A. McVey, 74 of Melbourne, FL passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Dr. Jey Pillai Center for Hospice Care after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her loving and devoted husband of 57 years was by her side. Delores was born in Charleston, WV to the late Herbert and Rua Vogt-Price. She was a graduate of South Charleston High School class of 57'. She was preceded in death by her, sister, Carolyn Sue Pauley. Dody is survived by her husband, Charles T. Tom' McVey of Melbourne, three children, Charles Jr. (Linda), Ronald (Shirley), and Steven (Sharon); five grandchildren Jenna, Meghan, Kelly, Laura, and Andy; two great- grandchildren, Charlie and Landon, all of West Virginia, and a sister Judy Simerly (Mike) of Anderson, IN. She loved to travel with her husband, read and spend time with her family. She was involved in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 50 years, the Neighbors of Sun Tree, Charleston WV ELKS Lodge #202, and the Red Hat Society. She was retired from the business world where she worked in the credit, travel, medical and real estate industries. The family will have a celebration of life to be scheduled at a future date.
