Obituary

Surrounded with the comfort of his family, David Sanders went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 27, 2015. He was born on November 28, 1936 in Rochester, NY to George and Marie Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Doris of Melbourne; his children, Brenda (Michael) of Merritt Island, David (Mary) of Melbourne, Gregory (Carrie) of Satellite Beach and Darlene (David) of Titusville; grandchildren, Jennifer (Peter), Jessica (Ashton), Larissa, Jenna, Kylie, Robert and Ryan and great grandchildren, Brayden, Jaxton, Broderick and Chase.

Dave spent his early childhood years in Buffalo, NY and moved to Hagerstown, MD in 1947. He graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1954 where he met the love of his life, Doris. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959; and attended Florida State University and Pensacola State College.

Dave moved from Ft. Walton Beach, FL to Brevard County in July 1965, and joined the Apollo Program at Kennedy Space Center. He spent the majority of his 33 years in management positions, mainly with Rockwell International, supporting the Apollo and Space Shuttle vehicle launch preparation activities. Dave retired in the 1998 to spend time with Doris, traveling and enjoying quality time with their family and friends.

The Sanders Family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff at Space Coast Cancer Center, Viera Hospital and Wuesthoff Hospice, who took such wonderful care of Dave and who helped Dave meet his Lord and Savior with peace and dignity.

A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Prince of Peace Church, 6895 Murrell Road, Melbourne, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wuesthoff Hospice, 8060 Spyglass Hill Road, Viera, FL 32940 or to Prince of Peace Church, 6895 Murrell Road, Melbourne, FL 32940.
