David was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, on June 28, 1938, to Mary Fern and Robert Bradley. He attended Clarksville High School where he met his wife of sixty-one years, Shirley Acuff Bradley. He graduated from Austin Peay State University with a degree in Mathematics.
Following his college graduation, he served in the United States Army and was primarily stationed at Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Subsequently, he worked for over thirty years at Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida, as a program director.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of Melbourne, Florida, and by his children Laurie Dambro (Ed Chairvolotti) of Orlando, Florida, and Scott Bradley (Michelle) of Brentwood, Tennessee. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Micah Bradley (Dillon Dunn), Eli Bradley, Nick Dambro, and Zac Dambro. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Bradley (Lou Schaeffer) of Springfield, Missouri, and Blakey Bradley (June) of Clarksville, Tennessee. David was preceded in death by his parents.
Devoted to his family, he was a generous and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
David enjoyed being active in the church and was an elder at both Melbourne Church of Christ and Hilldale Church of Christ. He taught Bible classes and assisted with the Meals on Wheels program for many years. His hobbies included woodworking, billiards, trains, travel (especially the Smokey Mountains), and meeting friends for breakfast. While living in Clarksville, he enjoyed being a Tennessee Titans season ticket holder.
David's family will celebrate and remember his life privately. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
