IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Danny Lee
Lancaster
September 18, 1952 – May 18, 2020
Danny Lee Lancaster, 67 of Eau Gallie Florida passed away on Monday, May 18 th 2020.
Danny was born to Francis and Joan Lancaster in Beech Groove Indiana on September 18 th , 1952. Danny was the first of 4 children. He proudly graduated from Eau Gallie High in 1971 and immediately joined the Navy. In 1973 Danny worked on a ship on the Mississippi which he loved. He did that for many years and spoke often about his experiences. After that, he returned to Eau Gallie where he worked along with other family members at The Royal Chef. Many knew Danny for his time at the restaurant and when he later worked at Harold's Diner. Danny helped the wait staff and was a dish washer.
Danny never married or had children of his own, but had a dedication to his parents, sisters, brother, aunts, uncles and his nieces and nephews that was one of a kind. Danny's heart and soul was different. He loved no matter what. He accepted all, no matter what. He knew no enemy's and made many friends. He never judged. He never was angry or mean. He did not know envy. He only wanted to help and love everyone. He could see good in anything and everything. Through his life, he was always a help to his parents and watched over all his younger siblings and their children. He enjoyed watching over us all and just being in our company. All of his nieces and nephews have many memories of him playing with them, teaching them and being that protector.
Many of you know Danny as the guy who rode his bike or walked all over town. The "Sam Elliot" look-a-like. He never cared to drive, he truly enjoyed walking. He was dedicated to his town and everything about it. He loved his Commodore Football Team and could tell you their stats all the way back from 1971. He still, till the day he passed, could tell you their scores! He loved to visit old mom and pop shops and restaurants around town and made friends with all the staff. History was his thing. His favorite was home town history of Eau Gallie, but he could go on and on about every war and every piece of American history. His ability to remember dates and events was absolutely amazing!
We will miss his smile and miss the way he would just listen to any rant (and not say a word!). We will miss the way he just wanted to be with us, always willing to give, and never expecting a thing in return. His niece, Danyel will miss playing cards with him (he always let her win), watching movies, playing football and corn hole and especially all his great stories. She will miss his excitement about little rides around town or adventures at their camp, but will never forget all the wonderful memories she has of him. Those are engraved in all of our hearts forever.
Danny is survived by his sisters Susan Lewis and Penny Ridout as well as his aunt Brenda Holtzclaw, nieces Danyel Salmela, Tammy Polchlopek, Nicole Coleman, Alicia Ridout, Nova Chamberlain, Joey Lancaster, Emy Suttles, Ben Holtzclaw and many great grand (and great-great) nieces and nephews.
He will join his loving parents in heaven along with his little brother Joe. This alone makes me smile. His brother was his best friend and his hero. He has missed him so much. I have peace in knowing he is in their arms.
Services for Danny will be held on June 6 th 11:00am at Eau Gallie First Baptist Church in Melbourne
