Obituary

Born Cynthia Eileen Downes, 7/21/38, to Harry and Frances Downes of Clermont, NJ. She graduated from Middle Township High School in '56. After a brief marriage to William F. Elmquist, she took her two young girls and started a new life. She started a very successful business as a bookkeeper with multiple accounts in the Jersey Shore resort town of Wildwood, NJ. Very dedicated to her career she always found time to take the kids on vacation or all meet at the beach.
After moving to Connecticut in the eighties she found a rewarding job in the finance department at a rehabilitative center for special needs adults. She found it so rewarding that she only retired three years ago. She remarried in 2001 to Henry Taylor II and in 2011 built her dream home in Malabar, FL. She spent her remaining years doting on kids and grandkids and decorating and landscaping their house. Her favorite interests were traveling, boogie-boarding, camping and shell collecting at the beach. She could do the Times Crossword puzzles in ink without help from the internet. She was always up for a rousing game of cards and a game of scrabble became a combat sport.
She is survived by her husband Henry and leaves behind her daughters, Donna Jackson of Milton, DE, Susan Doran and son-in-law Daniel Doran of Belton, Texas. Three grandchildren, Tamerra Starr, Zach Doran, and Jamie and her husband, Josh Stanley. One great-granddaughter, Harper Stanley and a great-grandson, Brett Stanley, due in March.
Anyone who knew Cindy appreciated her wisdom and sharp wit. She will be missed by all.
