Clayton Rudolph Kieffer, 97, of West Melbourne, passed away on March 4th. 2019 in West Melbourne.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M, Friday, March 8th, 2019 at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 A.M.

Clayton was born in Rochester, New York to Emma and Henry Kieffer on December 18 ^th 1921. He married Veronica R. Marino on March 9 ^th 1946 at St. Mark Church in Brooklyn, New York. He worked as a Trackmen for (the New York City Transit Authority (TA) for 23 years when he retired in 1976.

He was a veteran of WWII and served in the United States Marines from October, 1941 to February, 1946. He then served in the United States Army from October 1948 to August, 1949. He served in the Asiatic Pacific area from September 1942 to February 1944. He participated in action against the enemy at Bouganville in 1943 and Okinawa in 1945.

Clayton is preceded in death by his 2 brothers and two sisters.

Clayton is survived by his children Michael Kieffer, Irene Kieffer, Corinne Stergious (George Stergious), Arthur Kieffer (Louise Kieffer) and Thomas Kieffer. Clayton has 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
