Christopher Joseph Martin, 24, passed away in Orlando, FL on August 10, 2012. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 14, 1988. After moving to Brevard County, Christopher attended Bayside High School and joined the NJROTC program, becoming a drill-regulation and exhibition leader. He graduated from Bayside in May of 2006 and received the Scottish Rite Award. He later joined the Marine Corps and honorably served as a reservist, earning numerous awards such as the U.S. Army Quartermaster School Certificate of Distinction, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and a Navy Unit Commendation. He expressed his love of baking and decorating cakes as a pastry chef, and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and interests including playing guitar and singing, karaoke, sailing, fishing, drawing and painting, and writing. Chris is survived by his loving wife, Emily; his parents, Debi and Ralph Garcia; grandparents, Brenda and Jerry Kough, John Alverio, and Robert and Betty Cox; brother, Andrew Garcia; sisters, Taina Garcia and Christine Cameron; nieces, Alexia Cameron and Kiera Lawrence; nephew, Keegan Cameron and uncles Robert Cox and Alex, Charlie, Johnathan and William Alverio. Chris was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Tillman and Virginia Cox, and Thurman and Geneva Parish, and his grandmother, Amalia Alverio. Family will receive friends from 3PM to 5PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Discover Life Church, 3550 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Melbourne, FL with funeral services to follow at 5PM. Graveside services with full military honors will be held 1PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay, Florida.
