Chester Oren Sprik, 84, of Melbourne, Florida passed away December 5, 2015 at Wave Crest Health and Rehab.
He was born November 23, 1931 in Manton, Michigan and had been a resident of Melbourne for 53 years, coming from Michigan.
Mr. Sprik was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served 4 years during the Korean Conflict.
He worked many years in carpentry as well as home inspections, but his biggest passion was the 15 years he volunteered with Kids without Christmas. Chester lived every day to his motto, "Live to work and help people." When he wasn't active with Kids without Christmas he could be found at That Little Restaurant enjoying coffee and lunch as well as stock car races on the weekends at Orlando Speedworld.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Sprik; daughter, Robin Sprenkle of Palm Bay; son, Steve Sprik of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Cory (Joy) Sprenkle, Lisa (David) Cummings and Matthew Sprenkle; great-grandchildren, Rylie-Lynn Cummings, Eli Cummings and Jase Sprenkle and 3 sisters. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debra Sprik, 2 brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held 12:30 pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Palm Bay Baptist Church, 2601 Emerson Dr. SE.
