Obituary

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Charlotte Luikart, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully Monday, August 28 th in the Palm Bay Hospital ICU after battling a blood infection. Charlotte's husband, Ronald Luikart was by her side. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Ronald, her children, Mary and Don, and her grandchildren. Charlotte was born to Alfred and Florence Rousselle in Gretna, Louisiana on November 15, 1945. Charlotte moved to Florida in her early adulthood and had resided in Florida since. Ronald and Charlotte married in 1977 and were the epitome of a loving marriage: taking college courses together, traveling together, and raising their four children. Charlotte was the Finance Director for West Melbourne City Hall for much of her career where she proved herself to be one of the smartest people in the room. Charlotte retired at age 65.
Charlotte is remembered by her children as the life of the party and the light in the room. Charlotte's daughter, Mary comments, "Her laugh sparked joy and the world was a better place for knowing her." To her grandchildren, Charlotte was a caring, generous, and warm friend whom they cherished deeply. Charlotte encouraged her children and grandchildren to be their best selves and always enjoyed a laugh with them in even the most difficult times. Charlotte's family is devastated by this loss but find comfort in knowing Charlotte has joined two of her children, Jennifer and Billy, in Heaven. A memorial for Charlotte will be held privately with close family.
