Obituary

Charles "Cy" Stewart Trotter, 91, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019, in Palm Bay, Florida surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Charles was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Helen Trotter, and traveled all over the United States as the son of a thoroughbred horse trainer. He graduated from St. Theresa Catholic School in Coral Gables, Florida, then attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a business degree in 1948. He joined the Marines as an officer, served his country in Korea, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his heroic service in a combat zone.

He met his wife, Eleanor LeMoine, in New Jersey and they married in 1955.  Charlie and Ellie settled in Miami, Florida, where he ran a successful marine canvas business, and where they raised their nine children.   In 1985, they moved to Melbourne, Florida. He loved to spend time with family and friends, play golf, and watch Notre Dame football.

Charlie was a humble, intelligent, funny, wise, and faithful person.

He is survived by his family, daughters, Mary Anne Camacho, Elaine Trotter, Cecilia Berni Trotter and Theresa Trotter, and sons, Matthew Trotter, Stephen Trotter and Jeffrey Trotter; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother, Thomas Trotter of Aventura, Florida, and his companion of the last 15 years, Elizabeth O'Brien.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor, and their sons, Charles Jr', and Joseph and his second wife, Mary Ellen "Dale" Higgins.
