Charles "Duke" Robert Teplica, 85, of Melbourne FL, passed peacefully on October 10, 2012. He was born on July 23, 1927 in Stamford, CT to the late John and Mary Mazley Teplica. Upon graduating from Darien High School in 1945, Duke enlisted in the US Navy and served during WWII. After the Navy, Duke settled in Stamford, CT living most of his life in the Glenbrook area. He worked as a Master Carpenter and was a member of the Local 210 Chapter of the New England Carpenters Union.
Remembered as hard working, creative, and mechanically gifted, generous with his time and talents.
Duke is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret "Peggy" (Buck) of Melbourne, FL, sons Scott of Satellite Beach, FLA, and Glenn, husband of Michele Russell, and daughters Michele Wilson, and Sherry Kellner, wife of John, all of Stamford, CT, ten grandchildren, Lauren, Bonnie, Heather, Tina, Brian, Steven, Matthew, Ashley, Brittany, and Tyler, two sisters, Josie Ostreicher of Westport, CT and Betty Tyler of Stamford, CT. Besides his parents, Duke was pre-deceased by his brother Bill, and sister, Marion DeForest. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, on Friday, October 19th at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery on Hoyt Street, Darien.
