Charles H. Phillips passed away in his sleep on April 17, 2016. He was born June 3, 1961 in Madison, Wisconsin to Layton L. and Betty E. Phillips (Prothero). He attended Oregon, Wisconsin High School and after graduation in 1979 traveled, playing his guitar, and singing. In 1985 he moved to Florida where he remodeled houses and installed hurricane shutters. For eight years he was a caregiver for a friend, until he met Jane, the love of his life.
He attended the Florida Institute of Technology where he received his undergraduate degree. He recently completed his Master's degree and was scheduled to graduate in May of 2016 with a 4.0 GPA after seven years of study.
Charles is survived by the love of his life, Jane Eastman, his mother Betty Prothero, father Layton Phillips, Brother Ricky Phillips, Uncle Danny Remhof, Aunts Mary Anne Lee, and Sharon Zimmerly. Nieces Lacy and Kim, nephews Jason and Jeff, a great nephew Kincaid, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Angela Fisher, maternal and paternal grandparents, an uncle, and two aunts.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 5th at 11:00am at Paradise Beach. Burial will be private.
