Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Louis Best, 91, passed away surrounded by family on March 4, 2015. He moved to Florida in 1956 and went to work for RCA at PAFB in timing and telemetry. Mr. Best was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. His great love of music was passed on to his children and grandchildren. In addition to loving all kinds of music, he loved vintage airplanes, playing cards with family and friends and electronics of all kinds. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

A man of deep faith and a founding member of Ascension Catholic Church, he served as a past president of The Holy Name Society and was a lifetime member of both the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.

He is survived by Dolores "Dee" Best, his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, his children, Christopher (Lynn Hatfield) Best, Angela Best, Anita Brady, Sally (Steve) Muragin, Colleen (Dave) Ferguson; three sisters, Rosemary Lang, Margaret Huber and Sr. Rachel Best, OSB; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Monday, March 9 with viewing one hour prior to the Mass at Ascension Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ascension Catholic School.
