Cecil Paul Peel Jr., born on January 3, 1953, passed away peacefully at home in Cocoa, Florida, on June 23, 2026, with his beloved wife, Karen Peel, by his side.

Cecil was the son of Cecil Paul Peel Sr. and Georgia Altman Peel, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Peel Salinas; her husband, Harold Salinas; and Karen's grandson, Jaden Hall, the son of Grace Denneler.

Born in Tampa, Florida, Cecil later moved with his family to Brandon, Florida, where he spent his childhood. He often shared fond memories of growing up in a loving family, running shirtless and barefoot through the neighborhood, creating the carefree memories that stayed with him throughout his life.

Cecil graduated from Brandon High School in 1970 before attending Tampa Technical Institute, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Science. He also obtained his Federal Communications Radio Telephone Third Class Operator certification and studied CATV Science and Electronic Technology. In 1973, he became a member of the Sigma Epsilon Theta fraternity in Tampa, Florida.

Throughout his career, Cecil worked for Radio Corporation of America (RCA), in Computer Science, and later for Raytheon, where he remained until his retirement in 2015.

Cecil was also proud of his family's rich history as Florida pioneers, with the first Peel family member arriving just six months after the Mayflower in the early 1600s.

Cecil was previously married to Nancy (Izzie) Sigmond Peel, who preceded him in death. Together they had one son, Brittan P. Peel of Cocoa Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his stepson, Justin Weatherford of Cocoa, Florida, and his stepdaughter, Grace Denneler of Colby, Kansas. He also leaves behind his cherished step-grandchildren: Savannah, Zaiden, and Luna Weatherford; Jacob Hall; and Kynzlee Denneler.

Cecil embraced life wholeheartedly and found joy in spending time with family and friends. He loved traveling and enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, camping, fishing, boating, volleyball, scuba diving, and music. A true enthusiast of classic vehicles, he took great pride in working on his three Corvettes, his father's Cadillac, and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He found peace in gardening and took pride in creating beautiful garden beds and carefully paving the walkways around them. He also enjoyed brewing his own beer and wine, repairing broken electronics, and was well known for hosting unforgettable Halloween parties complete with elaborate, creative costumes.

Above all, Cecil will be remembered for his kind, loving, and generous spirit. Friends often said, “I can't think of anyone who didn't love Cecil.” His warmth, laughter, and genuine compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cecil's family and friends have lost a truly remarkable man whose memory will forever live in their hearts.
