IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cathy Lou
Clune
October 16, 1955 – November 5, 2025
Cathy Lou Clune, age 70, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 at her current home in Titusville, Florida. Born on October 16, 1955, in Oceanside, New York, spending most of her earlier years growing up in Massapequa, New York. She was the daughter of John L. Clune and Gladys (Hohler) Clune, both now deceased. Cathy was the youngest of all the children and is survived by her siblings: Donna (Charles) Kosch (Burke, VA), Susan (John) Kempey (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL), Jo-Ann Montgomery (New Port Richey, FL). Her sister, Patricia (Alfred) Carlson preceded her in death. Cathy is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Cathy was a "social butterfly," making friends wherever she went; at Publix while grocery shopping with her mom, browsing at the malls, chatting with people in the neighborhood doctor's office, or socializing with the other residents in her assisted-living home in her final years. Her bright smile always lit up the room.
Cathy's robot puppy, "Sandy," was always at her side and was a comforting presence and playful companion for her. "Sandy" responded quickly to whistles by barking and performing other varied behaviors, that brought hours of joy to Cathy's days.
Cathy was a whiz at doing 500-piece jigsaw puzzles, patiently fitting all the small pieces together by the hour. She enjoyed her crafts; doing latch hook, drawing, coloring and decorating for the holidays, especially, Christmas. Cathy loved her cat, "Puddy," feeding him his favorite Puffed Rice cereal while taking care of her beloved pet parakeet, "Polly," each day. She even brought "Polly" with her to a hotel where she and the other quests were staying for her niece's wedding. Her parakeet chirped from within her cage with joyful song while everyone was checking in, bringing added joy to the occasion, and Cathy was the "star" in the hotel lobby that day!
Cathy once attended Tim Tebow's "Night to Shine" unforgettable worldwide celebration event sponsored by his foundation honoring people with special needs. It was a memorable occasion for Cathy to get all dressed up to dance and party with all the people, including a red carpet entrance! It was a very special night for her and all the guests.
Her family wants to thank all the staff at Washington Square in Titusville, FL, for the wonderful care they provided for her. They were amazing. Also, special thanks to Corina Savela on a job well done. We are very grateful for everyone involved.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charities in honor of Cathy Lou Clune.
