Carolyn Oetjen Smith, 89, Indian Harbor Beach, passed peacefully on March 9, 2023.

Carolyn moved with her husband, Guy Smith, to the Melbourne area in 1964, where Guy became one of the "Radiation old timers".

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Carolyn was the daughter of Doctor George Frederick Oetjen and Mrs. Esther Oetjen. It was there she met her future husband, son of Dr. Guy Smith and Mrs. Annie Lee Smith. They lived briefly in Virginia and Georgia before landing for life in Brevard County.

She was an early and multi-decade member of the Eau Gallie Yacht Club.

She is survived by two children, Esther Smith of Sarasota and Guy Smith of Asheville, NC.
