Carolyn was a 60+ year member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class and would sometimes play piano for the class. She was an aspiring writer and belonged to "Scribblers", a local group of like-minded writers who would meet throughout the year and publish an annual book of short stories and poems. She loved bowling and belonged to numerous leagues over the years, the last one being the TGIF league which she continued in until the pandemic changed things. She also enjoyed playing bridge and other card games. In her final years, her activities were severely restricted because of the pandemic, but she was able to find a small group of friends in Old Downtown Melbourne that she would meet with for Saturday coffee and breakfast, it became the highlight of her week.
