Caroline Rogers Heater (Cokey), 82, of Melbourne Beach, Florida passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at home, surrounded by loved ones.
Cokey was born in Youngstown, Ohio in February 9, 1934. Spending her formative years in Maryland, she then attended college in New York. Cokey became a proud graduate of Vassar College in 1955. Soon after, she relocated to Brevard County, Florida. Feeling she'd found paradise along the Indian River, she stayed.
Cokey had a passion for tennis, playing almost daily throughout most of her lifetime. She contributed to her community by supporting the local Humane Society and various environmental causes.
Cokey was preceded in death by daughters Tracey Walker and Debra Cole and survived by daughters Jennifer Miller and Randi Heater, sons Alexander Heater and Robert Heater, and brother Walter Rogers. She was a faithful and loving mother, grandmother (11 grandchildren), and great-grandmother (12 great grandchildren) and will be missed tremendously.
