Carol Lynne Kane, 70, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2026, at Holmes Regional Hospital. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life service that will take place at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Ave, Melbourne, FL 32935, on March 14th, at 2:00pm.

Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, on September 29th, 1955, Lynne Graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Phycology, she then went on to get her Masters in Exceptional Education from the University of Central Florida. She spent 24 years working with students in Exceptional, the last 17 of which were at Melbourne High School. She was incredibly devoted to her students and always did everything she could to make them successful and ready for the world. After her retirement, she and her husband spent a lot of time in Balsam Grove, North Carolina, enjoying a retirement home, the mountains and cooler weather. She loved gardening, watching the birds, and sitting on her porch watching the world go by.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carolyn Simon. She is survived by her husband Michael, brother Larry, sister Jennifer, her three children, Daniel, Kevin, and Robin, and four grandchildren, Madelyn, Charlotte, Finn, and Wren.

Lynne will be remembered for her dedication to her students, friends, and family, her consistent optimism, and overall great outlook on life. Her smile and joy will be a remembered gift for all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Promise In Brevard, an organization designed to provide affordable, independent housing for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities.
