Carl Allan Moen was born October 19, 1937 in Aurora, IL, to Carl and Theodora (Sandaker) Moen. He died at 84 years of age, May 27, 2022, at the William Child's Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL, after a several year battle with Parkinson's Disease and a brief battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Allan, as he was always known, served 4 years and 7 months in the USAF as a Control Systems Mechanic and Guidance Systems Technician from 1958-1962. He became an office equipment repairman for about 40 years with Monroe Systems for Business and similar companies, beginning on large electro-mechanical calculators and progressing through a variety of electronic equipment, last including copy machines, until his retirement in the early 2000's.
He was married to the love of his life for over 47 years, Judith Ann Williams, from January 1967 until her untimely death from the effects of Multiple Myeloma in December 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Allan and Judy lived and worked in Orlando initially; moving to the Melbourne area in the early 1970's. They never had children of their own although Judy's students were always important to them. Allan is survived by Nephews, Dean Van Alstyne (June) of Lula, GA, and David Dungan of Redding, CA, and various other nephews and nieces in other locations in the USA. Carl is also survived by his special friend, Diane Barney.
Allan was active in the Boy Scouts of America, St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Luther Springs (Novus Way Outdoor Ministries), and the Via De Cristo Retreat Movement over his lifetime of service to others. His many activities included Boy Scout Master; Church Treasurer; Men of St. Timothy (MOST) Leader and Head Cook for decades; Chancel Choir Member; Hymn Soloist; Lenten Soup and Sandwich Coordinator; Hymn Sing Leader; Praise Band Singer; Easter Lilies and Christmas Poinsettias Coordinator and Arranger; Christmas Eve Luminaries; Madrigal Dinner Facility Setup; Discovery Weekend Retreat Coordinator and Leader; Church Copier Repairman Extraordinaire; Coordination and Display of Seasonal Banners throughout the church facility; unsung hero of purchasing and distribution of kitchen, fellowship, and maintenance church supplies; Luther Springs Projects, and Via De Cristo Retreat Rector and Head Cook.
