Brenda Lee Bakehorn, 56, of Melbourne, Florida passed away October 29, 2015 at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 1, 1959 in Wabash, IN to Donald and Ella Dials and had been a resident of Melbourne for 31 years, coming from Indiana.
Brenda was a very spiritual person who loved her Native American background. A Cherokee phrase she loved to share with her children was "We can only be what we give ourselves the power to be". She loved and cherished nature and all of Earth's beauty, especially the moon and the stars. She had a love for astrology that she instilled in her children. Music was a large part of her life; she used to say music was some of the best medicine for your soul.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving children, Jessica Marie (Johnny) Benfield of Palm Bay, FL, Layla Dawn (Thomas Montana) Bakehorn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Brandon (Amy) Bakehorn of Melbourne, FL; mother, Ella Dials of Laketon, IN; sisters, Sandra Dials and Donna Dials both of Indiana; grandchildren, Caleb Benfield, Brayden Benfield, Abigail Benfield, Alex Kranyik, Issac Bakehorn, Athan Bakehorn, Kane Bakehorn and Kameron Montana.
Brenda was a loving soul with a kind heart. She was devoted to her family and her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. She will be missed by all who met her as well as those who were lucky enough to have known her.
"We cried endlessly when you left Earth. We promise not to let tears mar our smiles and laughter you've given us. We'll miss you forever. Love you for always."
Visitation will be held November 5, 2015 from 1-3pm followed by a service at 3pm at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
