Booncharoen (Penney) Romascavage, a home maker age 81 known to her friends as Penney lost her two year struggle with leukemia and passed away peacefully at home in Melbourne, Fl on January 21, 2020 with her husband of 52 years at her bedside. She was born in southern Thailand on August 3, 1938 to Lek and Gow Bosri and was a former resident of Allentown, Pa. She enjoyed gardening, growing fruit trees, Thai cooking and fishing. She was an avid American football fan, watching games until the very end of her life. In her younger days she enjoyed traveling. Penney was a kind, gentle caring person who made friends easily and will be missed by all who knew her. She and many of her friends raised funds and diligently worked to build the Thai Buddhist temple on Aurora Road in Melbourne.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Uraiporn Tonyai age 49 on March 4, 2016. She had no other children.
She is survived by her husband Stanley L. Romascavage of Melbourne, three sisters, a brother, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces in Thailand and the extended families of Gary, Jane Romascavage and Wayne, Madelline Romascavage of Allentown, Pa.
A practicing Buddhist she was a member of the Thai Buddhist Temple Wat Florida Dhammaran in Kissimmee.
A visitation with no service will be held on Monday January 27, 2020 from 11 am till 1 Pm at Davis Seawinds funeral home 560 Montreal Ave, Melbourne, FL. A private ceremony and service will be held at Thai Buddhist Temple Wat Florida Dhammaran, Kissimmee, Florida at a date and time to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
