Obituary

Betty Jackson Goebel, born July 1, 1925, died October 18, 2012 at home with beloved family present. She is survived by daughters, Marie G. Jones (Fayetteville, GA) and Betty J. Goebel (West Melbourne, FL) and grandsons, Michael J. Jones and Brian J. Priest. She is preceded in death by Carl J. Goebel, her husband of 55 years.
She attended Augusta University for nursing. She lived in Melbourne, FL since 1963 as a mother and homemaker. She was Sunday school teacher at Eau Gallie First Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling and visiting friends in various countries with her favorite destination being Switzerland, where she had life-long friends. She loved photography, animals and supported many charities throughout her life. She had a special love for dogs and many of her pets were rescue animals. She is remembered for being a Christian role model and considered as a second mother to many of her daughters' friends. She was a good friend and beloved mother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life was held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Eau Gallie First Baptist Church, 1501 W. Eau Gallie Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to animal rescue of choice.
