Bert N. Pooley, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Bert was born in Pensacola, FL on August 29, 1923 to the late Bert N. Pooley, Sr. and Margaret E. Smith.
He honorably served our great nation during WWII in the Marine Corps. Bert was a long time resident of Melbourne, FL and retired from the banking industry. Bert was proud to be the 1st president of the Eau Gallie Chamber of Commerce. He was also a Shriner and a member of Masonic Lodge #318. During his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bert is survived by his sons, Bert Pooley III, Robert and his wife, Deborah Pooley; brother, Ed Pooley; niece, Beth; 5 wonderful grandchildren and 3 adoring great-grandchildren. Bert will be truly missed.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:30AM on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
