Obituary

Dr. Barbara-Jean Antoinette Stibler, 83, of Melbourne, Florida died Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was born to the late Vincent and Antoinette Stibler on December 20, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY.
Barbara-Jean, known by her friends and family as BJ, graduated from Brooklyn College in 1961 and went on to earn her medical degree from the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1965. BJ lived in Tinton Falls and Somerset, NJ prior to relocating to Melbourne in June of 2003.
BJ worked was as a general surgeon at the Somerset Medical Center until she retired in 2002. She also served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve Medical Corps from 1982 to 1992.
BJ sang soprano with the Brevard Community Chorus for over ten years and travel to Europe with them. Prior to moving to Florida, BJ took great joy in showing her champion Puli dogs and continued to keep them as pampered pets. BJ loved to travel and looked forward to her annual journey to the Aruba Beach Club. BJ having visited the Aruba Beach Club since 1993, had many close friends there. She especially loved visiting the Alhambra Casino.
BJ is survived by first and second cousins, neighbors and friends in both the US and Aruba.
Cremation was arranged by Davis Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Melbourne, Florida. Ashes will be spread by the family and an intimate celebration of life will be schedule for October.
