Barbara Shirey, 78, wife of the late Paul Shirey passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2014. She was born in Providence, RI on May 21, 1936 to the late Oscar and Mary Vadeboncoeur. Barbara was married in 1952 and made Connecticut her home for 30 years before moving to Florida. A celebration of life will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a date to be announced. She is survived by her children, Jay Shirey of Melbourne; Harold "Dale" Shirey of Melbourne; Denise Wigle of Bristow, VA; Rosemary Ekstrand of Melbourne; Tina Smith of Ansonia CT; David Shirey of Pungoteague, VA; and Jerome Shirey of Kissimmee, FL; her sister Christine of New Milford, CT; her brother Roland of AK; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, sons Douglas and Paul Jr and granddaughter, Nicole. She was in fact, the most beautiful person in the world and everyone who knew her saw sunshine and rainbows when they looked at her. Our Mommy. We will love you forever.
