Barbara Ann Neustel, 93, passed away on October 8, 2024 at home in Rockledge, FL. She was the widow of Arthur Neustel.

Born on November 1, 1930 in Yonkers, NY, Barbara was the daughter of Anne (Andrewchek) and Eugene Brill.  After her graduation from Yonkers High School in 1948, Barbara's mother moved her and her sister, Gerry to Pensacola, FL so that she could afford a college education.  After a couple of years at Pensacola Junior College, Barbara graduated from Florida State with a degree in Elementary Education.

In 1952, Barbara met and married an aviator, Arthur Neustel, at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola.  This union resulted in three children, many different duty stations (including two years in Chile), and 63 happy years together.  In 1984, Arthur and Barbara returned to Florida and built their dream home in Brevard County.

For many years, Barbara was an active member of St John's Episcopal Church and Prince of Peace Church.  She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint.  She was an innovative person who enjoyed creating multi-media and found art objects, long before they were in fashion.  A child of the Depression, Barbara believed in saving and re-using things.  She always found joy and beauty what she encountered and determined to use it to its best advantage.  Despite her thriftiness (or perhaps because of it), Barbara was a generous soul and enjoyed giving to others.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sandra, daughter in law, Margaret, and four grandchildren: Jillian, Jackie, Ben, and Graham.  She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, and her sons Gary and Randy.

The graveside service will be held on Monday October 21 at 2:30 pm at Florida Memorial Gardens.
